Before Christina Hendricks was the ‘the sexiest woman in the world’ (according to a 2010 poll by Esquire magazine) or known throughout the whole TV watching world as Joan Holloway on AMC’s Mad Men, she was just a sexy model trying to make a living.

Were things rough for her? I’d like to picture her in a cramped apartment, surviving on a diet of Ramen noodles, stressing over how to pay her few meager bills. That mental image makes these photographic images from Gawker okay. Not for creative purposes. Not even for the prestige of appearing in Playboy. No! Only the desperate desire to survive makes these pictures acceptable.

According to The Smoking Jacket, the Playboy blog, Christina’s photos accompanied a 1999 story about summer shooters (drinks, not video games or whackos with guns). Just in case you can’t tell which one she is, she’s the one on the right.

On a positive note, at least she’s not the clown. On another positive note, she never has to pose for anything like this ever again. Maybe she’ll get her chance to be Wonder Woman on TV. Seeing her in the classic outfit of the Amazonian Princess would do a lot to erase these pics from my mind.
