Mumbai, 21 June 2011: Today is Summer Solistice, the longest day of the year.
Summer solstice is a natural phenomenon which occurs when the Earth's and the Moons axial tilt is most inclined towards the wun at its maximum.
Summer solstice occurs in June in Northern Hemisphere and December in Southern Hemisphere.
Normally the summer solstice occurs in June 20 or 21 every year. During this day people of the Northen hemisphere will get maximum daylight and thereby the duration of the day seems to be longer.
