13-05 .... What happened to the Penguins !!

Hello hockey fans from around the world .... You will certainly recognize these two guys ...

and why their look of incredibility !!!!!

For the members who are not hockey fans, .... let me explain in very few words ...

Montreal is a hockey city ... !! ...like others are football, baseball, soccer, etc. People here live and die by their hockey team .... The mood in the whole Province of Quebec changes after every win/loss !!!

The Montreal Canadiens (our hockey team) has just defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins by a decisive 5-2 score (this was last night ... May 12th)

Now, Montreal finished the season in 16th place .... the last team to make the playoffs ...

We earned the unenviable task of meeting a powerhouse 1st place team (Washington) where the odds makers predicted that Washington would win the series in 4 games ... 5 maximum (4 out of 7) ..... Well, Washington outplayed and outmuscled Les Canadiens by a wide margin, but we still beat them in 7 games .... mainly because of a very hot goaltender who was getting double the number of shots than the other goalie .... and a bunch of dedicated players.

This tired ... beat up team then had to meet the defending world champions with two days rest. The Pittsburgh Penguins were well rested after disposing the Ottawa team in 5 games .... they also have two of the top three players in the world ( see the picture below) Malkin from Russia and Crosby from Canada.

They were supposed to win in 5 games !

Well, Montreal followed the exact same script to win in seven games ....

It's not finished yet ... there are two more series to go ... !

NOTE .... Pittsburgh does NOT wear these powder blue uniforms .... (someone dressed them like this for this picture) ...

They wear a very fierce looking black .... !!!
